Experiencing occasional anxiety is a normal part of life for most people. However, those with anxiety disorders experience frequent, intense, excessive, and persistent anxiety during everyday situations. This can trigger repeated episodes of quickly triggered feelings of intense anxiety, fear, or terror, that can reach a peak within minutes. These are called panic attacks and can be extremely disruptive and harmful to everyday life.
Treatments typically include medication, therapy, or a combination of both.
Anti-anxiety medications may be prescribed by your doctor. It is imperative to take your medication as intended. Do not skip doses or let your medicine run out.
Therapy is also beneficial for patients with anxiety. We strongly believe that you should feel empowered, respected, and heard– that’s where healing begins. When your plate is so full of work, school, family, kids, marriage, and more, it’s only human nature to need to talk through some of it in a safe, non-judgemental space. Laying everything out in the open with the guidance of a trained professional allows us to understand and improve upon the ways we think and act.
